As expected, both UPS and FedEx have announced their new fuel surcharges. For air shipments the new fuel charge is 13% and for ground shipment add 7.5% effective April 4th. This is up from 11% and 6.5% respectively. Unfortunately we're not done yet. Don't hesitate to contact me to help you find alternatives for your shipments.

As fuel prices climb higher each day we are once again seeing an increase in the Fuel Surcharge by the major three carrier, UPS, FedEx and DHL. Fuel surcharges will be raised tomorrow, February 7, 2011 for Ground shipment from 5.5% to 6% and for Air and International Air shipments from 9% to 10%.

Just like UPS and FedEx, DHL increased rates at the beginning of 2011 and also followed suit in reducing the Divisor number which essentially is an additional increase. Refer to the whole story posted on January 19th.
